What do we want to be? We should have a higher education, a higher degree promising an exalted carrier and an eminent status, the luxury of life: a better home, a better car, expensive clothes. In a nutshell, it’s all about wealth and success. we want ourselves to be successful in all aspects of life. But have we ever thought of the real life? the life here after? The never ending life.
Do we even know the real meaning of riches? the meaning of a wealthy life? A monetarily strong life with economic prosperity.
No, never! This never comes with a piece of mind. How beautifully a Hadith puts it. I could not go further without jotting down the very words of hadith. The holy prophet (peace be upon him) told it before 14th centuries:
“If the Son of Adam has a valley of gold, he would love to have two of them, and his mouth not be filled except by the dust.”
And it’s a total fact. A man can never be fulfilled by his life, no matter how much wealth he gains.he will always be demanding for more.
Likewise, camels were thought to be the most precious thing in the time of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him), but once upon a time he brought the attention of his companions to the point that reading of the Holy Quran is much better than this precious thing.
Another hadith defines the real meaning of wealth as:
“Wealth is not the riches of the multitude, but wealth is the riches of the soul”
And everybody knows from where comes the riches of heart and it’s satisfaction:
[Surat Ar-Ra’d 28]
“Listen, the hearts find peace only in the remembrance of Allah.”
If we want to have peace of life, it can only be obtained through Quran and by learning it.
