Islam is the complete and true religion of Allah Almighty. Islam gives us the right path on how to live the whole life in this world according to the true guidance of Islam. Islam deals with beliefs, rituals, transactions, and moral values which we should follow in our daily life routine.
Islam has five basic elements which are also known as Pillars of Islam
1- The Profession of Faith – The Shahada
The Profession of Faith, the shahada, is the most fundamental and basic pillar of Islamic beliefs. It simply tells that “There is no God but God and Muhammad is his prophet.”
2- Daily Prayers—Salat
All muslims are expected to pray five times each day. This does not mean that they need to attend a mosque to pray but you should recite five times a day.
3- Alms – Zakat
Giving of alms is the third pillar. Muslims believe that they are meant to share their wealth with the poor people of their community.
4- Fasting during Ramadan – Saum
During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims are expected to fast from dawn to dusk and in this, they are expected to refrain from eating and drinking during daylight hours.
5- Pilgrimage to Mecca – Hajj
All Muslims who are able to are required to make the pilgrimage to Mecca and the surroundings at least one time in their lives.
